A common scenario for a media tour is for the appropriate spokesperson to conduct interviews at a variety of New York-based national media venues, including newspapers, magazines, morning television shows and radio stations. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have also been facilitating virtual media appointments for our clients to meet with journalists and producers via Zoom or Skype. These meetings help generate feature profile coverage about the company in the New York City area, a key market for many companies, as well as across the country by virtue of the extensive number of national media outlets based in New York.
Beyond New York, interviews can be conducted in -person and/or virtually in select major cities around the country, such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, and Dallas. In each market, we conduct interviews with print outlets, television shows and radio stations.
In addition to touring spokespeople throughout a number of cities, RPR can arrange Satellite Media Tours (SMTs) on behalf of clients. During an SMT, the spokesperson is based in one central studio, frequently in New York City, and upwards of a dozen or more TV stations from across the country “come to” the spokesperson via a satellite connection. The millions of viewers in these markets see the interview as one that is “personalized” to the local station, featuring an interview by the local anchor or host.
