City Harvest

The world’s first food rescue organization, City Harvest has served the hungry in New York City for more than 30 years, rescuing and delivering 46 million pounds of fresh food every year to meet this basic need on a local level.

The tireless work of City Harvest’s employees and volunteers and their collaboration with nearly 500 soup kitchens and food pantries throughout the city affect more than one million men, women, and children who face hunger every year.

As City Harvest’s public relations partner for nearly five years, RPR developed innovative, multifaceted programs that leveraged the organization’s unique initiatives, events, and partnerships to promote City Harvest’s work to fight hunger in New York.

RPR highlighted the thought leadership profiles of City Harvest’s executives and the organization’s celebrity chef partners by consistently securing feature stories in top-tier national newspapers and broadcast outlets, as well as significant event coverage in New York magazines and society columns.

In addition to City Harvest’s long-term initiatives, RPR also promoted the organization’s responsive work during New York’s times of need, such as its Hurricane Sandy relief efforts with New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez.

RPR secured placements in publications and outlets including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, New York Post, Crain’s New York Business, Page Six, Us Weekly, Manhattan Magazine, Gotham, Associated Press, “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams,” “Access Hollywood,” “CBS This Morning,” Fox 5, WPIX, WCBS, NY1, Huffington Post and many more.
