BankMobile

Established in 2015, BankMobile, a division of Customers Bank, is America’s largest mobile-first bank, offering fee-free checking and savings accounts.

It provides target customers—millennials, the underbanked, and middle-income households—with a digital, effortless, and financially empowering experience. In addition to fee-free checking and savings accounts, BankMobile offers lines of credit, joint accounts and access to over 55,000 surcharge-free ATMs nationwide, a guaranteed higher savings rate than the top four banks in the nation, a personal banker for all customers, and a free financial advisor for VIP customers. BankMobile is operating as the digital banking division of Customers Bank, which is a Federal Reserve regulated and FDIC-insured commercial bank.

In August 2014, Customers Bank retained Rubenstein Public Relations to begin promotion of BankMobile in order to drive awareness of the new mobile bank. Prior to launch, RPR focused on building awareness of BankMobile, primarily with business, local and trade media. RPR implemented a multifaceted strategy to focus on the differentiators of BankMobile. Initially, the strategy focused on securing business and industry recognition for BankMobile, and then RPR branched out to consumer coverage.

Since its launch, RPR secured extensive media exposure of BankMobile and its services in top-tier consumer, trade and local publications including The Wall Street Journal, Yahoo! Finance, U.S. News & World Report, BuzzFeed, Bloomberg Businessweek, Fast Company, Forbes.com, POPSUGAR, Business Insider, Reader’s Digest, FoxNews.com, Crain’s New York Business, Millennial Magazine, American Banker, Knowledge @ Wharton, Credit, and Bank Innovation. Additionally, RPR secured broadcast interviews in outlets such as CNBC, TheStreet TV, NY1, and Bloomberg Radio.

RPR has also helped secure numerous awards and speaking engagements for BankMobile and its executives, including Luvleen Sidhu, Co-Founder, and Chief Strategy Officer. Sidhu was named one of Bank Innovation’s ‘2015 Innovators to Watch’ in June 2015 and one of Auto Finance News’ ‘10 Executives to Watch’ in September 2015 and was a winner of New York Business Journal’s Women of Influence Awards in November 2015. Previous speaking engagements secured for Sidhu include LendIt Fintech Conference, Future of Digital Banking in London, Bank Innovation Israel and American Banker conferences in the U.S.

The co-founders also published a book, “Why Can’t Banks Be as Easy as Uber? BankMobile and the Real Future of Banking.” The book was given raving reviews on the Dr. Oz Show, American Banker, Bank Innovation, Clipper Magazine, as well as numerous millennial and finance industry leaders.
